Transforming a Smile: A Complete Makeover with Crown Lengthening, White Fillings, and Porcelain Veneers
- This patient was unhappy with the overall appearance of her smile. She was particularly concerned about the gaps between her lower teeth, the discoloration of her aging composite veneers, and the uneven size of one of her front teeth, which appeared smaller than the others.
- To address these issues, we performed a crown lengthening procedure on her front tooth to reveal more of the natural crown, creating a more balanced and harmonious appearance. Next, we used white fillings to close the gaps in her lower teeth, giving her a more uniform and polished look. Finally, we applied porcelain veneers to her four front teeth, dramatically enhancing the aesthetics of her smile.
- The result? She was thrilled with her new smile, feeling more confident and ecstatic about the transformation.

The first visit requires preparing the natural tooth and taking impressions to send to a ceramist for the fabrication of the new veneer. Patients return a week or two later to have the new restoration adhered to in place.
Our office uses CEREC technology, offering same-day restorations such as veneers, crowns, and bridges. Patients have their teeth prepared by removing a thin layer of enamel. Digital impressions are taken and used in our office to mill a veneer out of porcelain right in the office, eliminating the need for a dental ceramist. This ensures the final veneer is perfect while allowing patients to leave the office with a beautiful new smile!
